BFT Mechanic Recruitment Video

Target Audience: The target audience for this entry was the entire population of the Tri-Cities, Washington, region and surrounding vicinities covered in the television marketing area, which is roughly a 25-mile radius.

Strategy Objective:We believed an attention-getting, informative video could create interest in our job openings and attract more qualified candidates.

Situation Challenge: Ben Franklin Transit has a demonstrated, ongoing need for mechanics. Our past recruitment efforts have included ads in print, on the BFT website, and radio, but positions remained unfilled.

Results Impact: Instead of jobs going unfilled, we now have a selection of candidates from which to choose. We are currently working on extending offers for the last three open positions.

Why Submit: This entry was submitted because our Operations and Human Resources Departments asked Marketing & Communications for help in their recruitment efforts for mechanics. Highly skilled mechanics are integral to our operation. This video aided Ben Franklin Transit in adding experienced mechanics to the BFTeam and keeping our well-maintained buses rolling.
